Susan and Michael Hort have dedicated three decades to their passion for collecting art, guided by a profound commitment to “in-depth collecting and championing emerging artists.” Their distinctive approach often involves acquiring artwork at an artist’s early career stage, typically accumulating a substantial body of work, with a minimum of five pieces from each chosen artist.
Beyond their roles as art enthusiasts, the Horts are proprietors of Earth Enterprises, a prominent printing company. Additionally, they have channeled their dedication to a noble cause through the creation of the Rema Hort Mann Foundation. Established in memory of their daughter, Rema, who tragically succumbed to cancer at the tender age of 30 in 1995, the foundation serves a dual purpose. It extends vital support to families of cancer patients, facilitating travel and accommodations during challenging times. Simultaneously, the foundation fosters the creative spirit by awarding grants to emerging artists, nurturing the next generation of artistic talent.
